Everything you need to know about using Workingo as a worker or employer.
Getting Started
Anyone 18 or older, located in India, with a valid Indian mobile number. The Platform is currently intended for use within India only.
You register with your mobile number and verify it using an OTP (one-time password). Repeated OTP requests have a 60-second cooldown between attempts.
Not on the same number. Each phone number is tied to a single role — Job Seeker or Recruiter. To use both, you need two separate accounts with two different numbers.
Typically within 24 hours. If your profile is rejected, the app shows you the reason so you can fix and resubmit it.
It reflects a one-time internal check at submission — confirming the profile looked complete and consistent at that point. It is not a background check, credit check, criminal record check, skills assessment, or ongoing guarantee.
Job Listings & Applying
Recruiters can list the job title, city, work type (e.g. full-time/part-time), and salary. Listings go live immediately — they are not reviewed before publishing, though Workingo may review or remove one afterward.
There's no formal in-app "apply" button or messaging system yet — browse listings and contact the Recruiter directly (e.g., by phone). In-app interest notifications and engagement metrics are planned for a future release.
Yes — Recruiters should mark a listing "position filled" once hiring is done so it stops showing as open.
No. Workingo only facilitates introductions. It is not a staffing agency, is not party to any employment arrangement, and has no visibility into what happens once a Job Seeker and Employer connect.
No — this is explicitly prohibited. If you're asked for payment as a condition of being interviewed or hired, decline and report it.
Fees
Yes. Workers can browse nearby jobs, apply and contact employers directly at no cost. There is no commission, listing fee, or subscription fee for at least the first 6 months after public launch.
Yes. Employers can post jobs and connect with candidates at no cost, guaranteed for at least the first 6 months after public launch. Advance notice will be given in-app before any fee is introduced.
No. Workingo does not take any share of wages or compensation agreed between a Job Seeker and Employer.
Privacy & Data
Yes, at a basic level — profiles and job postings go through a one-time internal review so workers see real opportunities. This is not a full background check, and Workingo doesn't continuously re-verify listings after they go live.
Your phone number and name (account); profile details like city, role, and skills (Job Seekers) or company info (Recruiters); listing content; anything you submit for a Success Story, report, or contact form; plus some automatic data (notification tokens, language preference, and ad-related identifiers via Google AdMob).
On Google Firebase servers in the asia-south1 (Mumbai) region. Workingo does not currently store or process data outside India.
No.
Yes, via Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising ID to serve and measure ads. You can limit this through your phone's ad settings.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can access, correct, or delete your data, withdraw consent (e.g., for a Success Story), and raise a grievance.
Account Deletion
Via the app's Settings screen or the account deletion form on the Workingo website.
No. You're signed out immediately and can't log back in, even while it's processing — there's no grace period or cancellation.
Deletion is typically completed within 24 hours. Your number can be re-registered after a 30-day waiting period.
Success Stories
A testimonial (text and/or photo) about your experience finding work or hiring through Workingo, published in the app, on the website, or in promotional materials — with your consent.
No, it's entirely voluntary and not needed to use the Platform. Currently it's curated by Workingo's team with your consent, rather than a self-service submission.
Yes, at any time — even after account deletion — by contacting Workingo Support. It's removed from Workingo-controlled platforms within a reasonable time, though content already shared or cached elsewhere may not be fully removable.
Reporting & Safety
Use the in-app Report function. Reports go to Workingo's team for review and are kept for 30 days before removal.
Workingo may remove content, warn a user, or suspend/terminate an account — at its discretion. There's no obligation to explain the specific outcome to you.
Legal & Account Standing
Yes — with or without notice — if they reasonably believe you've violated the Terms, User Agreement, or provided false information, or to protect platform safety/integrity.
Among other things: submit false information, request/accept payment for hiring, harass or discriminate against other users, impersonate someone, scrape data, or hold multiple accounts per role.
Indian law governs the Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, and User Agreement, and disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra.
