Workingo is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Workingo ("Workingo", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use the Workingo mobile app "Platform".

By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

Based on the account, profile, and job-posting features visible on the Platform, we collect:

• Account information: your mobile phone number (used with a one-time password/OTP to sign in and verify your identity), and your name.
• Job Seeker profile information: city/location, current job role or occupation, skills, and other profile details you choose to add.
• Recruiter/Employer profile information: your name, type/industry, and city.
• Job listing content (if you are a Recruiter): job title, work type, salary, city, and any other details you include in a listing.
• Success Story submissions: text and/or photos you choose to submit describing your experience with Workingo.
• Reports: details you provide when reporting a job listing or another user's profile.
• Contact form / enquiry submissions: name, email address, phone number, and message content, if you contact us through the website contact form or WhatsApp.
• Account deletion requests: submitted via the app's Settings screen or the public web deletion form.

2.2 Information collected automatically

• Job listing engagement data, such as when a Job Seeker taps to call an Employer ("call taps"), used internally in aggregate; not currently shown to individual Recruiters.
• Notification data: your device's push-notification token and selected language (English, Hindi, or Kannada), via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
• Advertising data (mobile app only): the Workingo app uses Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier and certain device/usage information to serve and measure ads, and to limit how often you see the same ad. This is governed by Google's own privacy policies in addition to this one.
• Analytics data: Workingo plans to use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used (e.g., which screens are visited, general usage patterns). As of the date of this Policy, Analytics is not yet active; this Policy is being updated in advance of that feature to keep our disclosures ahead of our practices. Once active, we will ensure this section, and any related in-app setting, is accurate and current.

3. How We Share Your Information

3.1 With other Platform users, as core to the service

Job Seeker profile details relevant to hiring may be visible to Recruiters, and Recruiter job listings/company information are visible to Job Seekers.

3.2 With service providers

• Google Firebase (asia-south1), for hosting, authentication, push notifications, and database.
• Google AdMob, for app usage analytics and ad serving.

We do not currently use any other third-party processor, CRM, or SMS/OTP provider outside of Google/Firebase.

3.3 For legal reasons

We may disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Workingo, our users, or the public.

3.4 Business transfers

If Workingo's business is transferred (e.g., through incorporation, sale, or restructuring), personal information may transfer as part of that process, subject to this Policy or a successor policy.

3.5 We do not sell your personal information

4. Data Storage, Location, and Security

4.1 All personal data is hosted on Google Firebase infrastructure in the asia-south1 (Mumbai, India) region. We do not currently process or store personal data outside India.

4.2 We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. We are actively working to strengthen access controls on our administrative systems (specifically, enabling Firebase App Check on backend admin functions, which is not yet in place as of this Policy's effective date) as part of our ongoing security improvements. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4.3 Access to administrative tools used to manage accounts, listings, and reports is restricted to authorized Workingo personnel.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The Workingo mobile app displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier to show ads relevant to you and to measure ad performance.

You can:

• Reset or limit your device's advertising identifier through your phone's settings (e.g., Android Settings Ads);
• Opt out of personalized advertising where your device and Google's settings support it.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Workingo admin panel is for internal use only. The public Workingo website does not currently use cookies beyond what may be strictly necessary for it to function (e.g., basic page delivery), and does not use advertising or analytics cookies today.

If this changes we will update this section and, where required, implement a cookie consent mechanism before doing so.

7. Push Notifications

We send push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging, including account-related updates and broadcast announcements in your selected language. You can disable notifications anytime via your device settings.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may have rights to:

• Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information in your profile;
• Delete your account and associated data (see Section 9);
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (such as publishing your Success Story), which may limit related features;
• Raise a grievance about how your data is handled (see Section 12);

9. Account Deletion

9.1 You can request deletion at any time from the app's Settings screen or via the account deletion form on our website.

9.2 Once submitted, your account is signed out immediately and cannot be used to sign in again, even while the request is being processed. There is currently no grace period and no way to cancel a submitted deletion request.

9.3 We delete personal data associated with the account that we are no longer required or permitted to retain, subject to applicable laws, security, fraud prevention, and regulatory requirements.

9.4 Success Stories

9.4.1 With the user’s consent, Workingo may create and publish success stories relating to candidates who obtain employment or employers who successfully hire through the platform. Depending on the consent provided, such success stories may include personal information such as the user’s name, job title, organisation name, photograph, testimonial, or other relevant information provided by the user. Success stories may be published in the Workingo app, on the Workingo website, and through Workingo’s official promotional channels.

9.4.2 Participation in Success Stories is voluntary and is not required to access or use Workingo’s services. You may withdraw your consent and request removal of your success story at any time by contacting Workingo Support. Upon receiving such a request, Workingo will take reasonable steps to remove the relevant content from platforms under its control within a reasonable period, subject to applicable legal requirements and any limitations relating to content that has already been distributed, cached, shared, or reproduced by third parties.

10. Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended only for individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.

11. International Data Transfers

We do not currently transfer personal data outside India.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes (such as activating Analytics or adding a new data processor), provide reasonable notice, such as an in-app notice.

13. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India.
